Collective bargaining

Ibec's concern at Labour Court's application of new IR legislation

30/06/2016 - The Labour Court has issued its first recommendation under the revised dispute setting mechanism set out in the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Acts 2001 to 2015. The resulting recommendation (Freshway Food Company - and SIPTU Recommendation No. LCR 21242) has given rise to a number of concerns regarding pay rates, industry comparators, representation and the policy direction of the Labour Court in wage setting.

Government to commence review of Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2001

14/01/2013 - The Department of Jobs Enterprise and Innovation has indicated its intention to review current protective measures relating to conditional benefits and collective bargaining representation. This review is in line with commitments provided in the Programme for Government to assess the compliance of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2001 with recent judgments of the European Court of Human Rights
